The Mooncup® is a soft, medical-grade silicone menstrual cup that you can reuse every time you get your period. It holds 3 times more than a regular tampon and can be left in for 4-8 hours. It is a healthy and convenient alternative to tampons and pads which saves you money too. It’s great for swimming, sports and overnight use and because it’s designed to last for years, it’s an easy way to dramatically reduce the waste you produce.
Size A is recommended for those who are 30 and over, and all who have given birth vaginally regardless of age.
We also sell size B which is for those who are under 30 and have not given birth vaginally.
The sizing guidelines are related to your childbearing history and your age as these can affect pelvic floor tone. It is not related to your menstrual flow
We would recommend that you carefully read all the instructions contained with the packaging before using the Mooncup.
HOW TO USE THE MOONCUP
While many get the knack of using the Mooncup straight away, it can take up to 3 cycles.
Remember, your reusable menstrual cup should last for years and years. Once you’ve got it, you won’t look back.
As you would when using tampons, always wash your hands before inserting and removing your Mooncup®.
Fold the Mooncup.
Part the labia and place the cup as low down in the vagina as it will comfortably sit (lower down than a tampon).
The base of the cup should sit as low as possible in the vagina. As vaginal length varies, the first time you use your Mooncup you may need to trim the stem to get the best fit for you.
With clean hands, gently squeeze the bottom of the cup to release the seal then slide the cup out. Empty the contents into the toilet. We recommend emptying it every 4-8 hours.
Rinse your Mooncup with water or wipe it with a tissue.Fold and re-insert.
