Marbles are a very old game. It may not surprise you to know that it was already a very popular game several generations ago, but if we tell you that it was already popular in Ancient Egypt, would you believe us? It is also known in many countries of cultures different from ours, so there are countless versions of the game in which these little balls are the protagonists and, in the eyes of any child, a kind of treasure.
There are many ways to play, although they all have something in common: it is played squatting, at ground level, and the marbles must be thrown with one of the hands, propelled by a finger, usually the thumb, index or heart, depending on the skill and preference of the player.
Another basic rule of this game is that players usually bet their marbles, so it is possible that, when you finish playing, you will return home with your pockets full of marbles, or with none at all. The result does not matter, because the next day you can play again if you want.
